Albert Clair Penrod, age 89, passed away on December 22, 2015 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on January 2, 1926 to Albert F. & Opal Penrod.
He was a long time resident of Beaver City, graduating from High School with the Class of 1944. He then enlisted in the Merchant Marines in 1945 at the age of 19, while serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was honorably discharged.
He married Wanda Marie Query in 1945 also of Beaver City, and from this union they had two daughters Karla Sue Penrod and Patricia Anne Penrod Oliver.
Albert was a successful cement contractor in Southern California and Colorado for more than 30 years. He also raised champion Appaloosa horses for more than 10 years in Southern California.
In his life time he also lived in Arizona and Missouri.
He passed away on December 22, 2015 in a nursing home in Springfield Missouri of Alzheimer’s.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ab and Opal Penrod, brothers, Kenneth & Merlin Penrod, and sister Nettie Park.
HE is survived by his daughters, 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside gathering will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11 am at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
