Alvena Johanna Anna Wickenkamp, age 90, of Elwood, Nebraska, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the Elwood Care Center, in Elwood, Nebraska. She was born June 22, 1916 at Frontier County, Nebraska to John & Johanna Anna (Noltensmeier) Ficken.
After her schooling, she worked at home helping with house work and raising other siblings. She also worked in Lexington doing house work for people. On April 25, 1946 she married William Theodore Wickenkamp at Salem Lutheran Church, of rural Elwood, Nebraska. They made their home southwest of Elwood, Nebraska and farmed for many years. In 1975, her husband passed away. She remained on the farm doing gardening, raising flowers, & keeping up with yard until she had to move to the Elwood Care Center in October of 2004.
She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church of Elwood, Nebraska and later transferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. She also taught Sunday School for many years at Salem Lutheran Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband William T. Wickenkamp, Daughter Linda Wickenkamp, & brother Arthur Ficken.
Survivors include 3 Brothers: Herman & wife Edna Ficken, of McCook, Nebraska
Raymond & wife Betty Ficken of Cambridge, Nebraska
Harvey & wife Corrine Ficken of Eustis, Nebraska
Numerous Nieces & Nephews.

Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 7, at 1:30 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Otten, officiating. Burial will be at Salem West Cemetery, rural Elwood, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
