Alvin William Pfeiffer, age 79, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Holdrege, Nebraska. He was born on March 1, 1939 on the family farm in Gosper County, Nebraska to Cornelius and Ida (Schutz) Pfeiffer. Alvin attended elementary school at Salem Lutheran and high school at Elwood High School in Elwood, Nebraska. Alvin met his true love, Isabelle Huxoll, while attending a roller skating event in Holdrege, Nebraska. They were married on March 19, 1961 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska. To this union three children were born; Ronnie, Bonnie, and Tammy. Alvin devoted his life to his family and farming. He and Isabelle farmed and raised livestock for many years in Gosper and Frontier County. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed operating and talking about tractors. He was very proud of his family, including his children and their spouses and grandchildren. He loved when the children and grandchildren came to visit. To all, he instilled in them the importance of God, family, and hard work. After retiring and moving to Arapahoe in the fall of 1996, he continued to spend time outdoors, especially enjoying riding the lawn mower. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sisters who passed at birth-Florence and Mary; brother Lyle; Brothers-InLaw Floyd Farr, Arthur Oelkers, Wayne Huxoll, Joe tenBensel, Clarence Tracey, Chet Hilker, Martin Huxoll, Laurel Huxoll, Lloyd Golter, and Buddy Riepe, Sisters-In-Law Lois Pfeiffer, Bonnie (Wendland) Pfeiffer, Beverly Huxoll, Violet Hilker, June Tracey, and Betty Riepe, Nieces Christy Niemeier, Shelli Farr, & Nephews Dean Huxoll, Mark Huxoll, David Riepe, and Todd Zook. Survivors include his wife, Isabelle Pfeiffer, son Ron and wife Deb Pfeiffer of Houston, Texas, two daughters Bonnie Pfeiffer of Littleton, Colorado and Tammy and husband Mike Wilkins of Bellevue, Nebraska, 3 granddaughters Lauren and husband David Huitt of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Katherine Pfeiffer of Denver, Colorado and Kristin Pfeiffer of Denver, Colorado. As well as numerous immediate and extended family members. Viewing and visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2018 from 2 PM till 8 PM with family present from 6 PM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Chapel, 652 Main Street, Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. James Moshier, officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska.
