Arline Frances Sorensen

Arapahoe, Nebraska Arline Frances Sorensen, age 88, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was born on July 19, 1919 in Indianola, Nebraska to Francis J. & Lily E. (Wood) Madden. She grew up on the family farm north of Indianola, Nebraska and attended grade school at Frontier County District #27. In 1937, after graduation from Havana High School, north of Indianola, Nebraska, she worked as a domestic helper for various families in McCook, Nebraska. During this time she married Stewart Cacy. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed on the West Coast. While there, she would work at an aircraft manufacturer & cannery. After the war ended, they moved back to Indianola and later divorce. She would move to McCook, Nebraska and worked as a practical nurse at St. Catherine's Hospital. She then married Lloyd W. Sorensen. Eventually they would move to Arapahoe, Nebraska and start Lloyd's Painting and Decorating and Lloyd's Color Center. Lloyd passed away in 1968. She then worked at Better Buys in Oxford, Nebraska and Becton Dickinson in Holdrege, Nebraska until her retirement in 1985. She chose to take an early retirement to care for her elderly mother. She was a member of St. Germanus Catholic Church and Altar Society, of Arapahoe, Nebraska. Preceded in death by parents, husband Lloyd Sorensen, infant daughter Arline Frances Cacy, sister Alice Walker, brother-in-law Emert Farr & Soren Sorensen, sister-in-law Delores Madden & Lenore Sorensen She is survived by son Michael & wife Sherry Cacy of Arapahoe, Nebraska Brothers: James Madden of Sierra Vista, Arizona William & wife Sarah Madden of Alpine, California Sisters: Denelda & husband Bernard Schermerhorn of La Mesa, California Loretta Gail Farr of Kearney, Nebraska Grandchildren: 6 Great-Grandchildren: 10 Condolences and personal reflections may be sent to http://www.wenburgfuneralhome.com/. Viewing & visitation will be Thursday, January 10, and Friday, January 11, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Rosary will be recited prior to mass on January 12, 2008 at 9:45 AM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, at Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Father Robert Barnhill, officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
