Bonita M. Dusenberry, age 97, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on November 14, 2018 at her home. She was born on
September 21, 1921 to Wynnie and Fern (Howard) Hester on a farm just north of Beaver City, Nebraska. She was one of
five girls.
In 1925, the family moved to a farm south of Edison, Nebraska for three years before moving back to the Hester Family
farm north of Beaver City. She attended school at Beaver City High School and graduated with the Class of 1939. The family
attended the First Christian Church in Beaver City. In April, she was immersed by baptism. She was active in many of the
youth activities. On October 26, 1941, she was united in marriage to Warren Don Dusenberry of Oxford, Nebraska.
Following their marriage, they farmed southeast of Beaver City.
They attended the Christian Church, where she worked with the Ladies Aide, Missionary Society, helped with Vacation
Bible School, and spent 16 years working in church camp for youth in Nebraska, Kansas, & Colorado. In October of 1953,
they adopted their son Kenneth Dale. In 1962, Bonita became a member of the Red Cross Nursing at Cambridge, Nebraska.
In August of 1965, they had a farm sale and moved to Boise, Idaho where Don enrolled in Boise Bible College. Bonita was
involved working with the American Red Cross Blood Mobile at the headquarters. After Don’s graduation from school, he
ministered to churches in Washington, Wyoming, and some in Oregon. They would later move to Meridian, Idaho in 1980
and attended the Meridian Christian Church. Bonita worked at the Meridian Grade School before retiring and joining the
Meridian Good Sam Travel Club.
In April of 1991, they moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska and attended the Church of Christ, where Don was an elder and
taught Sunday school. In 1993, they lost their son Kenneth in car accident La Grande, Oregon. Don would pass away on
September 18, 2017.
Survivors include her sister Pauline Blincow of Holdrege, Nebraska, and many nieces, and nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, son Kenneth, sisters Norma Jean Hester, Roberta Woolston,
Donna Bose, brothers-in-law Jim Bose, Robert Woolston, Dean Blincow.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Mount Hope
Cemetery with Rev. Becky Saddler, officiating. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the
