C. Dean Weaver

Beaver City, Nebraska C. Dean Weaver, age 81, of Stamford, Nebraska passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska after a battle with cancer. He was born on May 7, 1932 south of Beaver City, Nebraska on the family farm to W. Gail & M. Nellie (Wright) Weaver. He attended school at Kneadmore School just north of the home place. He graduated with the class of 1949 at Beaver City High School. He married his High School Sweetheart Helen Kentfield after graduation. To this union 5 sons were born; Larry, Terry, Craig, Randy, & Jack. Dean worked for several farmers in the country and also at the Beaver City Light Plant. In 1953 he started to work for Burlington Northern Railroad; working out of Stamford as a laborer. He would later work as a truck driver on the rails and a foreman. He worked as far east as Red Cloud, Nebraska and as far west as St. Francis, Kansas. After retiring from railroading for 43 years, he started farming his parent’s farm. He was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Beaver City, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Terry & Randy Weaver. He is survived by his wife Helen Weaver of Stamford, Nebraska sons Larry and wife Marsha Weaver of Beaver City, Nebraska Craig and wife Kay Weaver of North Platte, Nebraska Jack and wife Terri Weaver of North Platte, Nebraska 12 Grandchildren: Sherri (Terri) Overton of Colby, Kansas, Emily (Andy) Atkinson of Medford, Oregon, Sydnie (Chad) Carraher of Milford, NE, Greg (friend Ellie) Weaver of North Platte, NE, Elizabeth (Kevin) Bieging Minn, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2 PM at 7th Day Adventist Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Lawrence Francis & Keith Theobald, officiating. Interment will be at the Stamford Cemetery, at Stamford, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
