Charles Willard Vandruff, age 81, of Beaver City, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska died on Friday, March 19, 2010, at the Beaver Manor, Beaver City, Nebraska. He was born on February 2, 1929 at Holbrook, Nebraska to Charles A. & Esther M. (Grannis) Vandruff.
He grew up north of Holbrook where he attended grade school and graduated from Holbrook High School with the Class of 1947. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in Kearney, Nebraska with a bachelors degree in Social Science. He would then teach 2 years in Gosper County, Nebraska. He joined the Marine Corp during the Korean War in November of 1953. He had attained the ranking of Staff Sergeant when he was honorably discharged. He would then attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska and later teach Social Sciences at Cozad High School, in Cozad, Nebraska. After his father retired , he took over the family farm until his retirement. In 2009, he moved to the Beaver City Manor, in Beaver City, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister: Arla Yost of Lakewood, Colorado
Nephews: Alan & wife Sarah Yost of Longmont, Colorado
Vernon & wife Betsy Yost of Lakewood, Colorado
Cousin: Joyce Mather of Arapahoe, Nebraska

Viewing and visitation will be Friday, March 26, 2010 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Graveside services will be Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11 AM at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
