Clifford Donald "Mose" Riepe, age 76, of Grand Island, Nebraska formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Veteran's Home, in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was born on April 4, 1931 south of Arapahoe, Nebraska to George B. & Thelma (Fletcher) Riepe.
He attended Arapahoe High School, Arapahoe, Nebraska thru the 11th grade, then enlisted in the Navy on May 9, 1950. He served on the U.S.S. George Clymer out of Coronado, California. He was a Seaman for 3 years and 10 months. He served time in Korea & Japan during the Korean War. He was discharged on March 8, 1954. He would work in Oklahoma in the oil fields for some time before coming back to Arapahoe, Nebraska to work for Jack Bellamy and farm for his parents. He would then go to work hauling sand and gravel for his parents at Riepe Sand & Gravel. He was always ready to haul one more load to who ever called and needed one right away. In 1988, he moved to the Veteran's Home, in Grand Island, Nebraska because of health reasons. He was a member of the American Legion Post#96, in Arapahoe, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother George Edward Riepe, Brother-In-Law Duaine Sprague.
He is survived by his sister: Thelma Ann Sprague & good friend Hilmar Lund of Denver, Colorado
Sister-In-Law: Betty Riepe of Flagstaff, Arizona
Aunts: Ella Riepe & Bernice Huxoll of Arapahoe, Nebraska

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, November 15, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Friday, November 16, at 10 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Otten, officiating. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #343 of Edison, Nebraska. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
