Darleen A. McClelland, age 77, of Beaver City, Nebraska died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the Beaver City Manor. She was born March 18, 1929 at Almena, Kansas to Walter & Eulalia (King) Roeder.
Darleen grew up in Almena, Kansas. She graduated from Almena High School with the class of 1947. She attended Ft Hays State College at Hays, Kansas for 2 years. She taught county school South of Almena for 1 year. She married Kenneth McClelland on July 3, 1949 at Almena, Kansas. They lived in the Almena area till moving to Beaver City, Nebraska in 1957. She worked as a clerk with Kelley’s Super Market for several years in the 60’s. She & her husband clerked many sales. She developed a love for Antiques and spent many hours preserving them and enjoyed every minute of it. She had been janitor for the First United Methodist Church in Beaver City also for a number of years. She moved to Beaver City Manor Assisted Living following her husband’s death on April 24, 2005, later moving into the Beaver City Manor. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting their activities.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, UMW, Kitchen Queens Extension Club and Red Hats, all of Beaver City, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband Kenneth on April 24, 2005, one Brother Merwin in 2000.
Survivors include: Son; Kennis & wife Nancy McClelland of Beaver City, Nebraska
2 Daughters: Kendra & husband Dave Anderson of St Paul, Nebraska
Kaylene & husband Jeff Bell of Holdrege, Nebraska
1 Sisters: Aileen & husband Norvan Meyer of Alexandria, VA

Visitation & viewing will be Tuesday, January 23, 1 PM until 8 PM; Wednesday 9 AM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 10 AM at First United Methodist Church at Beaver City, Nebraska with Rev. Robert Berlie, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of services.
