Donald E. Cass, age 86, of Beaver City, Nebraska died Monday, May 17, 2010 at Beaver City Manor. He was born September 10, 1923 in Furnas County, Nebraska to Clyde and Doris (Inman) Cass.
Don grew up in the Beaver City area. He graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1941. He married Rose Babcock at Norton, Kansas on May 12, 1941. He served in the US Army during WWII with the 70th Reconnaissance. They spent a couple years in Oregon and returned back to Nebraska where they farmed southwest of Beaver City for many years. Don also was employed by the ASCS office in the early 60's where he worked for 25 years. He served on the School Board of District #35 and later Hendley District #99. He also served on the Hendley Elevator Board at one time. He was a member of First Christian Church at Beaver City, Nebraska as well as American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His wife Rose died Dec. 15, 2006 and Don remained on the farm until March 9, 2010 when he moved to Beaver City Manor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie Hand, wife Rose, daughter Patricia on Oct 19, 1943, daughter-in-law Sue Cass
Survivors include: Sons; Donald Anthony "Tony" Cass and wife Patty of Columbus, Ohio
Wendel Luis "Lou" Cass of Stockton, Kansas
Sister: Bea Wiley of Arapahoe, Nebraska
Grandchildren: 2 Step-Grandchildren: 4

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, May 20, 2010, 10 AM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to services Friday at the Church.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 21, 2010 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastors John Sievering and Phil Olsen, officiating. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Union Cemetery rural Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
