Donald Joseph Jeffres, age 74, of Upland, Nebraska died on November 5, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital, in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born on May 30, 1937 at Ogallala, Nebraska to Ralph & Evangeline (Jasnoch) Jeffres.
He grew up at Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1955. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he was a farm manager at Wauneta, Nebraska. After several years, he moved to Culbertson, Nebraska and became a feed salesman for Purina. He would marry Charlotte Warner-Linner on April 22, 1978 at Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in the Gibbon, Nebraska area in 1980. He would work at YRTC in Kearney, Nebraska for the next 20 years before retiring. They would move to Upland, Nebraska in the fall of 2010. His wife Charlotte passed away on March 19, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Charlotte, brother Teddy Jeffres.
He is survived by his daughters: Chris & husband Jack Rubenthaler of Kearney, Nebraska

Viewing will be 1 hour prior to the start of the Mass at the church. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. James Catholic Church, in Kearney, Nebraska with Father Joseph Hannappel, officiating. Burial will be at Nov. 9, 2011 at 2 PM at the Arapahoe Cemetery, at Arapahoe, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
