Doris Lavina Rauch

Doris Lavina Rauch, age 86, of Parker, Colorado died July 27, 2018 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born in Arapahoe, Nebraska on November 15, 1931 to August Albert (Babe) and Maude Edith (King) Breinig. She spent her youth following her brother Lyle around and climbing on the chicken coop only to be rescued by her mom when she couldn’t get down. She attended elementary school at the one room school house by their farm and attended middle and high school in Arapahoe. Doris graduated from Arapahoe High School and soon married Darrel Eugene Rauch from Cambridge, Nebraska. They had two boys that were born in Cambridge Hospital, Richard Eugene Rauch and Clayton Duane Rauch. They moved to Denver Colorado, so Darrel could seek employment. After their arrival in Denver, Doris had a baby girl Teresa Marie Rauch that died shortly after birth and is buried in the Arapahoe Cemetery close to where Doris and Darrel will also be buried. Their 4th child was born in Denver, Shirley Nadeen Rauch Kirby and Doris was thrilled to be a housemaker and a mother. Doris always wanted “a dozen” children and therefore she became the mother to all she touched. Doris babysat in her home for many years and helped raise and guide many young children into productive adults. She loved nothing more than a house full of children and delighted in playing games and feeding the many kids that found their way into her home. Doris loved to travel, fish and be in her childhood home. Her real passion was saved for her family, husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she showered with love. Babies were soothed to sleep in her arms. Doris and Darrel ran a successful auto repair shop in Denver, Colorado for many years and after selling that business, began a wonderful time of travel. They traveled the entire USA as well as Canada and parts of Mexico in their motorhome and made numerous friends along the way. They participated in the Denver Corvair Club and spent many weekends at car shows. Doris's favorite pass time was fishing and camping, and she would spend hours in a boat or on the shore with her line in the water. Doris is survived by her husband Darrel, her son Richard (Gene) and his wife Debbie, son Clayton (Duane) and his wife Pam, her daughter Shirley and her husband Joe, grandchildren Jennifer, Jackie, Andy, Patrick, Kim and Brandy and her great grandchildren Eric, Zack, Rylan, Seth, Jordan, Andrew, Melanie, Tony, Christopher, Elizabeth, Zach, Jordan, Peyton and Nick, her brother Lyle Breinig, brother in laws Ken, Jim and Dale Rauch and their wives as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 4 PM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Chapel, 652 Main Street, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska on August 6, 2018 at 10:30 am with Rev. Becky Saddler, officiating.
