Dorothy L. Dickmeyer

Arapahoe, Nebraska Dorothy L. Dickmeyer, age 76, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Elwood Care Center, in Elwood, Nebraska. She was born on December 10, 1931 in Gosper County, Nebraska to Frank W. & Margaret (Monter) Petermann. She graduated from Arapahoe High School with the class of 1949. After school she worked for Kerr Plastics in Hastings, Nebraska. On August 1, 1954 she married Leon Dickmeyer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gosper County, Nebraska. They made their home north of Arapahoe, Nebraska and farmed there for many years. She moved into the Elwood Care Center in 2007 after health complications. She enjoyed refinishing furniture and helping Leon on the farm. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska where she also served on Lutheran Women Mission League and the Adult Choir. She also helped out at the Mission Mall in Arapahoe, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ervin & Oscar Petermann, & Brother-In-Law Art Ziebell. She is survived by husband Leon Dickmeyer of Arapahoe, Nebraska Son: Danny Lee & wife Becky Dickmeyer of Golden, Colorado Daughter: Debra Ann Cayler of Broomfield, Nebraska Brothers: Martin & wife Norma Petermann of Holdrege, Nebraska Ken & wife Colleen Petermann of Ravenna, Nebraska Sisters: Alice Ziebell of Chula Vista, California Gladys & husband Armin Leising of Arapahoe, Nebraska Sister-In-Laws: Annabelle Eland & Beata Petermann of Arapahoe, Nebraska Grandchildren: 4 Condolences and personal reflections may be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing & visitation will be Thursday, November 20, from 1 PM till 8 PM and Friday, November 21, 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 22, at 2 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Otten, officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, at Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
