Dorville Dale Whitson

Arapahoe, Nebraska Dorville Dale Whitson Sr., age 79, formerly of Holbrook, NE died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Southview Manor Care Center in Cozad, NE. He was born on July 29, 1925 at Birds, Illinois to Josiah W. & Alpha (Howe) Whitson. He attended school at Birds Public School thru the 8th grade and then graduated high school from Lawrenceville High School, in Lawrenceville, IL with the class of 1942. After school he went into military service with the Navy during WWII. On March 3, 1952 he married Joanne C. Amerman in Lawrenceville, IL. He attended Rose Poly Institute for a couple of years and then went back into the service with the Air Force in 1957. He served in the Air Force for the next 21 years and specialized as computer technician. He then retired and lived in Lawton, OK & Omaha, NE before making their home in Holbrook, NE. He was a member of the Holbrook Lions Club, American Legion Post #96 of Arapahoe, NE, and the First Baptist Church, of Holbrook, NE. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Dennis Whitson, & brother Loran Whitson. Survivors include wife: Joanne Whitson of Holbrook, NE Son: L.D. Whitson of Olney, IL Joseph & wife Vickie Whitson of Vacaville, CA Dale & wife Loida Whitson of Holbrook, NE Thomas & wife Connie Whitson Martinez, CA Daughter: Sheryl & husband Kevin Gramman of Omaha, NE Sister: Lucille Seachrest of Olney, IL Grandchildren: 10 Great-Grandchildren: 4 Funeral Services will be Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church of Holbrook, NE with Roy Hart Jr., officiating. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 31, from 1 PM until 8 PM & Tuesday, Feb. 1, from 9 AM until 8 PM at the Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE and prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Omaha, NE on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 1 PM with military rights given by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard of Bellevue, NE.
