Arapahoe, Nebraska Edna Genevieve Burton-Cole, age 95, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center, Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was born on June 30, 1909 at Oxford, Nebraska to Carl & Anna (Ubben) Watson. She graduated from Oxford High School with the Class of 1926. After high school she attended Hastings Business College taking secretarial courses. She then worked in Broken Bow, Alma, & Oxford as a secretary. On May 30, 1934 she married Frank H. Burton and made their home at Holbrook, NE. She would work at Holbrook Public Schools for several years as a secretary. In 1979 her husband Frank passed away. In August of 1983 she married Howard Cole. Howard passed away in 1987. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women of Arapahoe, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Frank Burton & Howard Cole, son Brent Burton, 1 brother & 1 sister. Survivors include Son: Randall & wife Connie Burton of Holbrook, NE 3 Daughters: Gail Lutjeharms of Loveland, CO Carla Sander of Grand Island, NE Virginia & husband Don Vonderfecht of Holbrook, NE 1 Sister: Ora Cowan of Holdrege, NE Grandchildren: 13 Great-Grandchildren: 12 Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 10 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, NE with Rev. Robert Berlie, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 9 AM until 8 PM at the Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE. Burial will be at Holbrook Cemetery, Holbrook, NE. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
