Edna Louise Glanzer

Arapahoe, Nebraska Edna Louise Glanzer, age 94, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska. She was born on September 8, 1913 southeast of Arapahoe, Nebraska to John G. & Ida C. (Helms) Riepe. She attended country school, 7th & 8th Grade Christian Day School, & Arapahoe High School, graduating with the Class of 1930. She went on to Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska and received her teaching degree. She came back to the Arapahoe area and taught at a country school for 5 years. On May 27, 1936 she married Walter E. Glanzer at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. They lived for 2 years at Leonardville, Kansas before moving north of Holbrook, Nebraska. In 1970, they moved into Holbrook, Nebraska. In 1990, her husband Walter passed away. She would then move to Sunshine Village, in Arapahoe, Nebraska in 2004. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Cambridge, Nebraska from 1958 until 2004, and then transfer to Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was active with the Lutheran Quilting Guild, LWML, & the Mission Mall. She was a member of the Holbrook Women’s Club & an active volunteer with the Red Cross. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, sisters Elsa Reese, Hilda Reese, & Bertha Glanzer. She is survived by Sons: Jon & wife Delores Glanzer of Holbrook, Nebraska Jerry & wife Joan Glanzer of North Platte, Nebraska Gene & wife JoEtta Glanzer of Holbrook, Nebraska Daughter: Janet Glanzer of Oklahoma Grandchildren: 13 Great-Grandchildren: 22 Great-Great Grandchildren: 3 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com. Viewing & visitation will be Thursday, May 8, from 1 PM till 8 PM and Friday, May 9, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, and prior to the services at the church. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Otten, officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
