Eggert "Eck" Olsen, age 88, of Beaver City, Nebraska formerly of Arapahoe & Hendley, Nebraska area died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Phelps Memorial Hospital at Holdrege, Nebraska. He was born October 26, 1919 at Minden, Nebraska to Eggert & Andrea (Erickson) Olsen.
Eck was raised in Minden, Nebraska where he attended school. He served in the US Army during World War II. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church at a young age. He married Patty Geraldine "Jerry" Cooper on Oct 31, 1954 at Hendley, Nebraska. They lived in Hendley, Nebraska where he was a school bus driver and custodian for the Hendley School System. In 1971 they moved to Hastings, Nebraska where he was a carpenter for Mary Lanning Hospital retiring in 1984. They moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska in 1986. His wife died December 27, 2002. He moved to Greenleaf, Kansas in 2006 and then to Beaver City Manor in early 2008. He was a member of American Legion Post #96 at Arapahoe, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by parents, sister Mildred Irene Olsen , wife Patty "Jerry" Olsen.
Survivors include Son; Bruce Olsen and wife Sandy of Overgaard, Arizona.

Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 9 AM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to services Wednesday at the church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with Rev. Mike Flury, officiating. Burial will be in Hendley Cemetery at Hendley, Nebraska with Military Honors by American Legion Post #96 of Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
