Ellis Eugene Fisher

Ellis Eugene Fisher, age 81, of Kearney, Nebraska formerly of Oxford, Nebraska passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born on April 25, 1933 at Heltonville, Indiana to Curtis & Benza (Glassco) Fisher. Ellis grew up in the Heltonville & Bedford, Indiana area. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in May of 1953 and served in the Army until April of 1955. After his honorable discharge from the service, he married June Dalton at Bedford, IN. He would work at the saw mill in Brown County at Helmsburg, Indiana before moving in 1976 to Almena, Kansas and later the Oxford, Nebraska area to work as mechanic at Nu-Vu Chevrolet dealership in Oxford, Nebraska. After Nu-Vu closed he went on to Brooks Ford dealership and worked there until retiring in 1995. Because of health problems, they would move to Kearney, Nebraska. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling with it while also visiting his friends at the local coffee shop. Preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, & 2 sisters Kay Fletcher & Eva Miller Survivors include his wife June Fisher of Kearney, Nebraska Sons: David Fisher of Kearney, Nebraska Randy Fisher of Columbus, Indiana Daughters: MaryKay Shearer of Kearney, Nebraska Bonnie Fisher of Kearney, Nebraska Brothers James & wife Glenda Fisher of Heltonville, Indiana Gary & wife Linda Fisher of Campbellsburg, Indiana Brother-In-Law: Rex Miller of Columbus, Indiana 7 Grandchildren: Jacob & Jared Shearer, Matthew & Robert Fisher, Rachel Myers, Justin Fisher, Kayla Harden 6 Great Grandchildren Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside services will be on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Union Cemetery, in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Keith Theobald, officiating.
