Floren A. "Shob" Hyke, age 81, of Wilsonville, Nebraska died on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in Cambridge, Nebraska. He was born on March 16, 1928 on a farm northwest of Hendley, Nebraska to Floyd & Hazel (Boop) Hyke.
He grew up in Furnas County, Nebraska living near Hendley, north of Arapahoe, Nebraska and south of Beaver City, Nebraska with his parents and attended rural school through the 8th grade. He married Joycelyn Clason on May 17, 1953 at Beaver City, Nebraska. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in May of 1952. He was stationed in Santa Ana, California at the el Toro Marine Corp Air Station where he was an airplane mechanic. He and his wife lived in Santa Ana while he served there. in 1955 they moved east of Wilsonville, Nebraska and started farming. He lived and farmed there until his time of death. He would also drive a truck part time for Rice Feed Yard and Wilson Truck Line and drove a school bus for Wilsonville Public Schools for several years. They were blessed with three children, David, Dana, & Dixie. Joycelyn passed away on June 10, 1976. On February 2, 1980 he married Shirley Howe. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2005. He married Rita Kresser on May 26, 2006 in Orleans, Nebraska.
He loved his family, farming, trucking, and his John Deere's and Ford's. He was especially proud of his grandchildren. He accepted Christ as his Savior on July 6, 2008, at the United Baptist Christian Church in Wilsonville where he was a member.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wives Joycelyn & Shirley, sister Maxine Shaw, brother Robert Hyke.
He is survived by his wife Rita Hyke of Alma, Nebraska

Sisters-In-Law: Norma Chapman of Oxford, Nebraska
Juanita & husband Merle Clason of Beaver City, Nebraska

Viewing and visitation will be Monday, June 29, from 1 PM till 8 PM and Tuesday, June 30, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the United Baptist-Christian Church in Wilsonville, Nebraska with Pastor Keith Theobald, officiating. Interment will be at the Wilsonville Cemetery, at Wilsonville, Nebraska. Military rites will be given by the VFW & American Legion Posts of Lebanon, Wilsonville, & Danbury, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
