Freda Lucille Beck

Freda Lucille Beck, age 84, of Holdrege, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska surrounded by her five children, one grandson, and one granddaughter. She was born on January 15, 1936 in Beaver City, Nebraska to Wayne Everett and Dorothy Lucille (Bonser) Smith. She was baptized in the United Methodist Church of Beaver City on July 25, 1937. She graduated from Beaver City High School with the class of 1953. On January 2, 1955 she married Kenneth Beck of Orleans, Nebraska. They had five children. They enjoyed taking the family to Stock Car races, Elvis movies at the drive-in, and camping. Freda worked at Becton-Dickinson in Holdrege for 31 years before retiring in March of 1998. She liked to sew and loved her pets, doing word searches, watching the Game Show Network, and spending time with family. She is survived by her son Richard “Rick” and wife Judy Beck of Orleans, Nebraska, daughter Lea & husband Jim Lawn of Kearney, Nebraska, son Scott Beck of Holdrege, Nebraska, daughter Denise and husband Steve Gardner of Smithfield, Nebraska, and son Brad Beck of Holdrege, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Jennifer Lawn of Kearney, Mandy Manley of Bertrand, Nebraska, Christopher Lawn and wife Angie of Lone Tree, Colorado, Samantha Long and husband Josh of Phillips, Nebraska, Alex Beck of Holdrege, Nebraska. Step-Grandchildren Bradly Thuernagle and wife Ann of Aurora, Nebraska and Jaclynn Solorzano and husband Luis of Grand Island, Nebraska. Great-Grandchildren: Addison Lawn, Tayler, Morgan, Tanner, and Takota Manley, Keegan Lawn, twins Camden and Delaney Lawn, Carley, Riley, Bexley, and Paisley Long. Step-Grandchildren: Alex Thuernagle, Elizabeth and Blaine Thuernagle, Eva, Alonzo, and Isobel Solorzano She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, Great Granddaughter Dawn Long, and brother Richard and wife Roberta Smith. Viewing and visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2020 at 10 AM at North Park Assembly of God Church in Holdrege, Nebraska. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11 AM at the North Park Assembly of God Church of Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Brian Steinbach, officiating. Interment will be on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 2:30 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
