Gayle I. (Haworth) Wenburg, age 91, of Cozad, Nebraska died Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Titusville, Florida. She was born June 18, 1913 at Lexington, Nebraska to John & Mabel Jane (Powell) Haworth.
Gayle grew up in Lexington, Nebraska, graduating from Lexington High School with the class of 1931. She attended Business College in Grand Island, Nebraska following graduation. She married Floyd A. Wenburg on April 29, 1938 at Lodgepole, Nebraska. They lived in Cozad till 1941 when moved to Missouri. They moved to Lexington – Darr area in 1945 and moved to Cozad in 1946 where she lived till the past few months when she moved to Florida. She had operated a Café in Cozad at one time, then worked a number of years with Cozad Bakery. Then in 1958 she worked for J. C. Penney’s in Cozad and retired in 1976. Her husband Floyd died September 29, 1986. She was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church in Cozad for over 75 years. Member of Ada Circle , Careful Builders and a Bible study group as long as her health allowed at the church in Cozad. She also belonged to the Rebekah Lodge in Cozad. She was an avid Cornhusker Fan, sky driver and international traveler.

Memorial established to the Parkview United Methodist Church of Cozad, Nebraska
Funeral services will be Friday, September 3, 2004 at 1:30 PM at Parkview United Methodist Church in Cozad with Rev. Jaime Farjas officiating. Private inurnment will follow at Lomax Cemetery at Oconto, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
