Harvey Eugene Esslinger

Harvey Eugene Esslinger, age 73, of McCook, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 19th, 1945 at Arapahoe, Nebraska to Walter and Viola Ida (Leibbrandt) Esslinger. He grew up in Arapahoe and graduated from Arapahoe High School with the class of 1963. After high school, he attended Parks School of Business in Denver, Colorado. He married Pamela Jane DeSaire in Denver, Colorado on January 20, 1967. He was an accountant for the Chevy auto dealer in Lexington, Nebraska. They would move back to Denver, Colorado, when Harvey started working for Wood Brothers as a carpenter. In 1978, he moved to McCook, Nebraska and opened Esslinger Home Improvement Company. They have been in the construction business for almost 40 years. In his absence work will continue on various remodeling and new projects, like the new Carpentry Shop/Classroom for Southwest Public Schools in Bartley, Nebraska. His life’s work as a builder in the McCook and surrounding area will not be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Pamela J. Esslinger of McCook, NE; son Jeff and wife Jamie Esslinger of McCook, NE. Granddaughter: Katelinn, brothers Galen and wife Debra Esslinger of Wichita, Kansas, Stanley & wife Pamela Esslinger of Kearney, Nebraska, sisters Linda and husband Bob Winter of Holdrege, Nebraska, Deanna and husband Joel Ferris of Archer, Nebraska, and Donna and husband Richard Nelson of Grapevine, Texas. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Arapahoe, NE with Pastor Bruce Lester, officiating. Memorials may be given in his name and sent to P.O.
