Helen L. Taylor, age 90, of Kearney, Nebraska formerly of Stamford & Beaver City area died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at St John's Center in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born August 13, 1919 at Precept, Nebraska to William David & Rachel (Marble) Perkins. Her Mom died early in her life and she was raised by her Dad, Granddad and a Aunt.
She attended District 9 Country School in Furnas County. She graduated from Beaver City High School with the class of 1937. She attended Hastings Teachers College at Hastings, Nebraska for 2 years. She taught Country School for several years. She married Cecil Taylor on December 20, 1941 at Hill City, Kansas. They farmed in Furnas County and the Precept area till retirement in 1998 when they moved to Kearney, Nebraska. Her husband Cecil died May 13, 2006. She accepted the Lord as her savior at a young age. She belonged to Precept Community Church until the church closed and then transferred to Evangelical Free Church at Stamford, Nebraska. Her family was very important to her as well as gardening, reading and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil, Sister Marie Davis, 2 grandsons and 1 Great-Granddaughter.

Daughters: Joyce and husband Clair Holmes of Hershey, Nebraska
Dorothy & husband Gene Beck of Knoxville, TN
Arlene and husband Jim Cross of North Platte, Nebraska
Leta and husband Dennis Grothen of Hastings, Nebraska

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday & Friday 1 PM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 20, 2010, at 10 AM at The First Christian Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor John Sievering, Officiating. Burial will follow at Precept Cemetery. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of services.
