Henry E. “Hank” Schelling, age 75, of Edison, Nebraska passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at his home. He was born on January 29, 1939 at Beaver City, Nebraska to Henry and Bessie (McDaniels) Schelling. He attended Oxford High School in Oxford, Nebraska and graduated with the class of 1958. After high school he would work construction in Illinois. On November 10, 1960 he married Peggy Burton at the United Methodist Church in McCook, Nebraska. They would move to Edison, Nebraska while he worked for Frenchman Irrigation District. In 1968, he bought the filling station in Edison, which was called “Hanks Conoco”. He would also run a fuel truck for a number of years for the Coop’s in Edison, Arapahoe, & Holdrege. He would retire in 2002 and work part-time for Murdoch Farms of Oxford, Nebraska. He was a member of the Spirit of The Rock Church in Oxford, Edison City Council, Edison School Board, Edison Volunteer Fire Department, & the Edison Community Club. Hank was very hard worker at his job and at home, but would also enjoy spending time camping with family. Hank was preceded in death by his parents & brother Perry Schelling. He is survived by his wife Peggy Schelling of Edison, Nebraska Son: Michael Schelling & fiancé Tammy of Kearney, Nebraska Daughter: Ginger & husband Tony Hinz of Beatrice, Nebraska Son: Rusty & wife Katie Schelling of Kearney, Nebraska Sister: Clarca & husband Ed Fitzgerald of Edison, Nebraska Sister-In-Law: Ila Mae Schelling of Oxford, Nebraska Brother-In-Laws: Dick, Bob, & Russell Burton of McCook, Nebraska Ray & wife Cindy Burton of Ulysses, Kansas Sister-In-Law: Pat & husband Bob Bellamy of Loveland, Colorado Pam & husband Larry Corder of Kearney, Nebraska Grandchildren: Jon, Ashley & husband Keith, Brooke Schelling, Jesse & Nick Hinz, Hannah & Cassie Schelling Great-Grandsons Ethan & Karson Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com There will be no viewing or visitation as Hank chose to be cremated. Memorial services will be Friday, April 18th, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the Spirit of The Rock Church in Oxford with Pastors Bobbie Wilson & Ken Breinig, officiating. Inurnment will be at the Edison Cemetery in Edison, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe is in charge of the arrangements.
