Irene Isabelle Stagemeyer

Arapahoe, Nebraska Irene Isabelle Stagemeyer, age 92, died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at her son’s home at Holbrook, NE. She was born on December 26, 1911 at Gosper County, Nebraska to Johann G. & Emma (Sydow) Wendland. She was baptized on January 28, 1912 and confirmed on March 28, 1926 at Immanuel Lutheran Church northeast of Arapahoe, NE. She received her formal education at the Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School. She was united in marriage to Gustav Stagemeyer on May 25, 1932 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Arapahoe, NE. They made their home and raised their family on a farm north of Holbrook. Irene worked at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe, NE as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 25 years. They moved to Arapahoe in June of 1967 where she lived until moving into her son’s home. They provided for her care these latter 43 months of her life. She is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church & LWML of Arapahoe, NE. She served many years as a 4-H leader. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Merlin Stagemeyer, Step-father Wilhelm Schievelbein, Brothers John Wendland, Arthur, Reinhardt, Glen, & Leo Schievelbein, daughter-in-law Doris Stagemeyer. Survivors include Son: Irlee & wife Rosemary Stagemeyer of Holbrook, NE Daughter: Marlene & husband Jerry Bachman of Missoula, MT Grandchildren: 5 Great-Grandchildren: 6 Funeral Services will be Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, NE with Rev. Dr. Carl Lilienkamp, officiating. Viewing & visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 21, from 1 PM until 8 PM & Friday, Oct. 22, from 9 AM until 8 PM at the Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE and prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Matthews Cemetery, Arapahoe, NE. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
