James Floyd Ziems, age 78, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at his home in Arapahoe, Nebraska. He was born on September 18, 1928 at Elwood, Nebraska to Henry & Mary (Graf) Ziems.
He was raised on a farm near Elwood, Nebraska. In 1952, he entered the Army and served until 1954. After his military service, he moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska. He worked as auto mechanic & bridge construction for several years. He would also work at the Arapahoe Co-op Elevator. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Post #343 of Edison, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers; 2 infant, Harry, Albert, & Joe Zeims and 3 sister; Velma, Alvina, & Sophia.
He is survived by brother: Dean Ziems of Loveland, Colorado
sisters: Minna Noltensmeier of Arapahoe, Nebraska
Emma Foster of Grand Island, Nebraska

There will be no viewing or visitation.
Graveside services will be Saturday, May 5, at 10:30 AM at the Arapahoe Cemetery of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Otten, officiating. Military rites provided by the American Legion Post #343 of Edison, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
