Jennie Marie Weatherwax

Arapahoe, Nebraska Jennie Marie Weatherwax, age 93, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at Cambridge Manor, Cambridge, Nebraska. She was born on September 30, 1910 in Red Willow County, Nebraska to Moses & Mary (Goreley) Richard. She attended school and graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1929. After school she taught school and helped care for her parents and sisters. On June 20, 1942 she married Stephen Story. They made their home south of Hendley, NE where they farmed until they moved to their home in Arapahoe in September of 1962. They enjoyed going out to the farm to work and take care of things. Her husband passed away on Nov. 7, 1970. In 1972 she married Delbert Weatherwax. They lived on Delbert’s farm until May of 1975 when they moved to Arapahoe. Delbert passed away on July 12, 1998. In 1999 she moved to the Heritage Plaza in Cambridge, then to the Tri Valley Assisted Living and the Cambridge Manor, both in Cambridge. She was a member of Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and keeping the Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Stephen Story & Delbert Weatherwax, 6 Sisters: Lenore, Sophi, Mona, Lorena, Maudie, Jeannetta, 2 brothers: Alfred & John Richard, Step-Daughter Louis Voss-Hahn, Step Daughter-In-Law Jean Weatherwax, Step Son-In-Laws Elmer Voss & Charles “Bud” Hahn. Survivors include Step-Son: Frank & wife Viola Weatherwax of Niobrara, NE Grandchildren: 5 Great-Grandchildren: 11 Great-Great Grandchildren: 3 Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 12, 2004 at 2:30 PM at the Christian Church of Christ of Arapahoe, NE with Pastor Milton Jones, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9 AM until 8 PM at the Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE. Burial will be at Hendley Cemetery, Hendley, NE. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
