B. Joan Parrish, age 83, of Wheat Ridge, Colorado formerly of Beaver City, Nebraska died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Collier Hospice Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was born September 11, 1926 in Furnas County, Nebraska to John Russell & Vivan (Livingston) Wentling.
Joan attended Beaver City schools and graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1944. She worked in Beaver City with her Dad and helped him establish a John Deere Business. She then taught a District 2 before leaving to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University at Lincoln, Nebraska for 2 years.
She met Dean Parrish who was from Grant, Nebraska at College. They married in October 1, 1950 at Beaver City, Nebraska and they moved to Denver. Joan worked for Gates Rubber Company as a dental assistant and Denver Public Schools. She also taught one year in Littleton Elementary Schools in Denver. In 1967 she returned to college and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1970 with a BS Degree in Education.
She was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church in Denver. She was active in United Methodist Women and was President & program chairperson for Church Women United for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband; Dean Parrish of Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Viewing & visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska from 10 AM until 8 PM and prior to services at the Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 1:30 PM at The First United Methodist Church at Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Brian McGee, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska.
