Joseph Edward Peterson, age 69, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 Phelps Memorial Hospital, Holdrege, Nebraska. He was born on August 7, 1937 at Norton, Kansas to Irenius Leroy "Pete" & Helen (Agnas) Peterson.
He attended school in Norton, Kansas and entered the Army after school. He married Mary Louise Hall on October 2, 1964 in Marshall, Texas. To this union entered two children; Dorothy and George Jerry. In their marriage four children were born; Mary, Carol, Shelley, & Chad. He served in the Army until he retired in 1976. He would then move to Norton, Kansas and worked for Tamko Manufacturing in Phillipsburg, Kansas and Norton Coop, Norton, Kansas for a number of years. He would go back to school from 1980 thru 1981, attending Colby Community College and received his LPN degree. He went on to Fort Hayes State University and Barton County Community College to receive his ADN in Nursing. He worked for a number of years in Wichita, Kansas and was Director of Nursing in Clayton, New Mexico. He would retire due to health reasons and move back to Norton, Kansas and worked at Valley Hope, in Norton, Kansas as support staff and assisted in counseling.
He was an active in the Knights of Columbus, in Norton, Kansas and was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, of Norton, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents & son George J. Hall.

Viewing & visitation will be Saturday, April 21, from 9 AM till 8 PM and Sunday, April 22, from 1 PM till 5 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Rosary will be on Sunday, April 22, at 7 PM at St. Germanus Catholic Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Monday, April 23, at 2 PM at the St. Germanus Catholic Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Father Robert Barnhill, officiating. Interment will be at Norton Cemetery, at Norton, Kansas. Military rites given by Fort Riley Honor Detail, from Fort Riley, Kansas.
