Joseph Walter Stagemeyer, age 70, of Holbrook, Nebraska died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Holdrege, Nebraska. He was born October 19, 1936 to Fred W. & Mary (Martin) Stagemeyer in Gosper County, Nebraska.
He was baptized at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, of rural Holbrook, Nebraska on November 15, 1936. He attended St. Matthews Parochial School, of Holbrook, Nebraska and then attended Holbrook High School and graduated with the class of 1955. On June 20, 1957, he married Elaine Fetters, at First Baptist Church, in Holbrook, Nebraska. They made their home at Holbrook, Nebraska and he would work for the Furnas County Department of Roads operating heavy equipment for 16 years. Then he would work for Adams Construction of Arapahoe, Nebraska operating heavy equipment for 28 years and retired in 2001. In 2006 he moved to the Beaver City Manor, in Beaver City, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Gladys Beauchamp, Doris Mai, Alice Niemeier, Son-In-Law Jim Brooks.

Brother: Harold & wife Ethel Stagemeyer of Beaver City, Nebraska
2 Sisters: Lucille Story of Cozad, Nebraska & Velma Foster of Stamford, Nebraska

Viewing & visitation will be Saturday, August 18, from 1 PM till 8 PM, and Sunday, August 19, from 1 PM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the First Baptist Church, in Holbrook, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Monday, August 20, at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church, in Holbrook, Nebraska with Pastor Dale Whitson, officiating. Burial will be at the Holbrook Cemetery, Holbrook, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
