Joyce Ann Hilker

Joyce Ann Hilker, age 89, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, formerly of Cambridge, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center, Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was born on May 20, 1932 on a farm north of Arapahoe, Nebraska to Emil and Emma (Hilker) Stagemeyer. Joyce was baptized on June 12, 1932 and confirmed on June 9, 1946 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church north of Arapahoe. She went to school at Arapahoe High School and graduated with the class of 1950. She then married Myron Hilker on September 2, 1950. To this union five children were born; Judith Kay, Linda Sue, Sherry Ann, Steven Craig, Shelly Lynn. Joyce raised her family on the farm north of Arapahoe, later she would move to Medicine Creek Lake north of Cambridge, Nebraska. Myron would pass away in 1991. She enjoyed her family and was very proud of her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to fish, raise flowers, and watch the birds. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Myron, two Son-in-laws Anthony Schaben & Kent Metzger; Grandson Kody Metzger, brother Merle Stagemeyer, Sister-In-Law Verna Stagemeyer, brother-in-law Larry Paisley. Survivors include Judith Kay Metzger of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Linda Sue and husband Dave Meyers of Kearney, Nebraska, Sherry Ann and husband Charlie Zeller of Bartley, Nebraska, Steven and wife Lana Hilker of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Shelly Lynn and husband Doug Ervin of Arapahoe, Nebraska. 15 grandchildren, 37 greatgrandchildren, 1 Great-Great grandchild, two sisters Karen Paisley and Mary and husband Bernie Jones of Cambridge, Nebraska and brother Paul and wife Daphna Stagemeyer of Arapahoe, Nebraska and many nieces, nephews, and friends. No viewing or visitation, but casket will be open prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. James Moshier, officiating. Interment followed at Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
