Beaver City, Nebraska
Kenneth Leroy Harding, age 79, of Cozad, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Cozad Community Hospital, Cozad, Nebraska. He was born on January 18, 1934 near Beaver City, Nebraska to Leroy & Velma R. (Beeler) Harding.
Kenney was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver City and was baptized in 1961. He grew up on a farm northwest of Beaver City with his parents and helped with the chores and numerous jobs around the farm. He moved to town with his parents in 1968. He enjoyed going downtown to get the mail, groceries, & paying bills. He had a friendly hello and smile for everyone.
He moved to Lexington, Nebraska in 1987, with this move came a job at South Central Developmental Services in Cozad. His job was very important to him because it gave him a chance to earn money, as well as dignity. This also gave him an opportunity to prove himself, as well as meeting and making new friends.
The things in life and everyday living whether small or large meant a lot to Kenney, as he appreciated kindness, a smile, handshake, or a hug. That was something that all of us take for granted. He was one of God’s “Special People”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Shirley Oertle.
He is survived by his sister Marilyn & husband DeWayne Wolzen of Cambridge, Nebraska
Brother-In-Law: Maynard Oertle of Lexington, Nebraska
and numerous nieces & nephews, relatives, and friends.
