Lela Leora Stubbs

Beaver City, Nebraska Lela Leora Stubbs, age 100, of Beaver City, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Beaver City Manor, Beaver City, Nebraska. She was born on June 11, 1913 on a farm near Beaver City, Nebraska to Bert A. & Grace (Gilchrist) Goosic. Lela was born with a twin sister Lena. The family lived near Beaver City except for a couple of years they lived near Wilsonville, Nebraska. She married Wesley William Stubbs on July 3, 1931 at Beaver City, Nebraska. To this union one daughter was born, Alice Marie. They farmed various locations in Furnas County, Nebraska. They would retire from farming in 1972 and move into Beaver City. Wesley passed away on September 29, 1989. She would continue to live at home until a fall at home in 2005 and she would move to the Beaver City Manor. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wesley, brother Cecil Goosic, sisters, Theda, Beulah, & Lena, daughter Alice Wasenius in 2004. She is survived by her grandsons Vaughn & wife Kathy Wasenius of Glenwood, Iowa Bradley Devin & wife Karen Adden of Lincoln, Nebraska Brent & wife Deidre Wasenius of Fremont, Nebraska Great grandchildren: Corey, Nathan, & Tara Wasenius Great-Great Grandchildren: Shaylynn, Brianne, Maisey, & Lainie Wasenius & several nieces and nephews Condolences and personal reflections may be sent to wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to the service. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastors Ivan & Joyce Dean, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
