Leland E. McCoy, age 84, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in Cambridge, Nebraska. He was born on June 5, 1926 southwest of Arapahoe, Nebraska to Stanley P. & Ethel M. (Holloway) McCoy.
He attended District #36 country school south of Holbrook, Nebraska through the 8th grade. Then the family moved to Oregon were he would graduate from Monmouth High School, at Monmouth, Oregon with the Class of 1944. In the summer of 1945, they moved back to Arapahoe. He entered into service in 1952 and was stationed in Alaska. After serving his country, he returned back to the family farm south of Arapahoe to work with his father and brother. On April 12, 1957, he married Donna L. Breinig at the First United Methodist Church, in Arapahoe, Nebraska. They made their home south of Arapahoe. Leland loved farming and raising livestock, thoroughly enjoying life on the farm.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #96, both of Arapahoe, Nebraska.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant sons Marvin & Gerry McCoy.
He is survived by his wife Donna McCoy of Arapahoe, Nebraska
Son: Allan & wife Sally McCoy of Arapahoe, Nebraska
Daughter: Ronna & husband Joe Cutlas of Grand Island, Nebraska
Brother: Dean & wife Fern McCoy of Arapahoe, Nebraska
3 Grandchildren: Aaron & Ashley McCoy, Abbey Cutlas
and many nieces & nephews.

Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church, at Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska with military rites by the Arapahoe American Legion Post #96. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
