Leland V. Robb

Leland V. Robb, age 85, of Smithfield, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at his home. He was born November 21, 1931 to Vernon and Myrtle (Chadwick) Robb at Lexington, Nebraska. Leland grew up on the family farm near Smithfield. He attended and graduated from Smithfield High School. After working a couple of years, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Alaska as a mechanic. After be discharged in 1954, he returned to the family farm. He farmed and ranched all his life in the Smithfield area. When not working, he loved to go to the local Coop and have coffee with others. He was very handy with his hands and worked on many things around the farm. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bertrand, Nebraska. He is survived by his brother Gaylord “Gary” and wife Shirley Robb of Kearney, Nebraska, Nieces: Joyce and husband Randy Gettman of Walton, Nebraska, Christie & husband Raleigh Burbach of Harrington, Nebraska, Denise and husband Matt Oestmann of Auburn, Nebraska and Terri and husband Troy Brush of Kearney, Nebraska. And numerous Great and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews. Leland is preceded in death by his parents. Viewing and visitation will be Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 1 PM at the United Methodist Church in Bertrand, Nebraska prior to the service. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2 PM at the United Methodist Church, Bertrand, Nebraska, with Rev. Soonil Park, officiating. Interment will be at Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Nebraska. Elwood Funeral Home of Elwood, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
