Leo Jacob Stalder, age 77, of Stamford, Nebraska died Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Beaver City Manor at Beaver City, Nebraska. He was born September 10, 1932 at Beaver City, Nebraska to John Ernest & Edith Jane (McCormack) Stalder.
He was raised on a farm in the Beaver City area and graduated from Beaver City High School with the Class of 1950. Following graduation he started farming and continued to farm all of his life. He served with the US Army from Jan 14, 1954 until Dec 7, 1955. He married Jerry Lou Spratling on March 28, 1954 at Norton, Kansas. They farmed in the Almena, Kansas area for 5 years before moving to present farm South East of Beaver City in 1961. He also operated Stalder Well Drilling with licenses in Nebraska & Kansas until 2005 but continued his love for farming. He attended the Congregational Church in Almena, Kansas. He also was a member of American Legion Post #28 of Beaver City, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by parents, son Gary in 1969, daughters Donna in 1969 & Diane Gewecke in 2006, one Brother Donald Stalder in 1987 and one Sister Maxine Bishop in 2007 and one grand-daughter Kelly Jo Stalder in 2007.

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City from 9 AM until 8 PM and prior to services at the church on Friday.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 16, 2010 at 10 AM at Congregational Church at Almena, Kansas with Pastor Kirk Kasson, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska.
