Leona O. Ottman, age 85, of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Cozad Care Center, in Cozad, Nebraska. She was born October 3, 1933 in Dawson County, Nebraska to Calvin and Zada (Lake) Brown. Leona attended school at Overton High School and graduated with the class of 1950. She married Robert M. Ottman on December 30, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Lexington, Nebraska. To this union three daughters were born; Linda, Diana, and Nita. They lived in San Diego, California while Robert served in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge, the family moved to Lexington to raise their children. Leona worked at Farmers State Bank for a number of years. In 1975, she retired from the bank. They decided to move to Kearney, where she worked at Goodwill and Walmart for a short time. She was a member of the Christian Church in Lexington and regularly attended bible studies. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and having all the family over for diners; but cherished time gardening, taking trips, and watching sporting events with her husband Robert. Leona is survived by her daughters Linda and husband Steve Rath of Elwood, Nebraska, Diana and husband Dwight Lindskov of Imperial, Nebraska, Nita and husband David Worthen of Covina, California, 4 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild, and her aunt Nona Heyen of Seward, Nebraska. Leona was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert. There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside services will be Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2 PM at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska with George Probasco, officiating.
