Leslie Samuel “Sam” Cookson

Arapahoe, Nebraska Leslie Samuel “Sam” Cookson, age 18, of Arapahoe, NE died Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge, NE as a result of injuries sustained from a car accident. He was born on June 3, 1987 at Santa Rosa, California to Greg S. Cookson & Angela C. (Gerr) Hendricks. He attended school in Elwood and Arapahoe High School where he was a senior. He was very active in school athletics. During his summers he enjoyed working with his father in general construction at Kearney, NE. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, NE. He is survived by his Father: Greg Cookson of Kearney, Nebraska Mother: Angela Hendricks of Benedict, Kansas Brother: Wesley Cookson of Kearney, NE Step-brother: Keith Hendricks Jr. of Benedict, Kansas Half-Brother: Freeman Strickland of Denver, Colorado 2 Grandmothers: Virginia Cookson-Wroot & husband Vance of Arapahoe Mary Moon of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Viewing & visitation will be Saturday, October 1, from 9 AM till 8 PM and Sunday, Oct. 2, from 1 PM till 5 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Monday, October 3, 2005 at 10 AM at the United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, NE with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating.
