Lois M. Dawson

Arapahoe, Nebraska Lois M. Dawson, age 83, of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of Arapahoe, NE died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska. She was born on February 26, 1922 northwest of Oxford, NE to Joseph & Anna (Haffey) Hays. She attended Hardscrabble School for eight years and then graduated from Oxford High School with the Class of 1939. After graduation, she taught school at District 7, in rural Gosper County, NE. In 1941, she was united in marriage to Lowell R. Dawson at St. Germanus Catholic Church in Arapahoe, NE. They farmed in Gosper County, NE in the Turkey Creek community for many years. Because of health problems, they moved to Arapahoe in 1984. On January 16, 1992 her husband Lowell passed away. In October of 1992, she moved to Kearney, NE. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lowell, 3 sisters: Katherine Bartruff, Bernice Dawson, and infant sister Elsie Marie Hays, 1 brother James Hays, Great-Grandson Alec M. Koller. Survivors include 2 Sons: Richard & wife Barb Dawson of Johnson Lake, NE Roy & wife Kathryn Dawson of Edison, NE 2 Daughters: Kay & husband Wayne Farr of Johnson Lake, NE Karen & husband Stan Johnson of Omaha, NE 2 Brothers: Joe & wife Jean Hays of Edison, NE Bill & wife JoAnn Hays of Edison, NE 3 Sisters: Mic & husband Vaughn Dawson of Arapahoe, NE Suz Walker of Kearney, NE & Tess Moor of Exeter, NE Grandchildren: 11 Great Grandchildren: 10 Viewing & visitation will be Wednesday, March. 16, from 9 AM till 8 PM at the Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, NE and prior to the service Thursday at the church. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 10:30 AM the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, NE with Rev. Hyeongdong Baek, officiating.
