Loran Junior Fisher, age 91, of Arapahoe, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Cambridge, Nebraska He was born on the family farm, located four miles north of Edison, Nebraska to Loran and Anna (Buhler) Fisher on November 11, 1926. He graduated from Edison High School in 1943 and served in the Korean War in Communications. In 1953 he married Geraldine (Baily) Fisher. They had 2 children, Debra and Scott. Loran is survived by his wife, Geraldine, daughter Debra (Don) Cantrell of Merna, Nebraska and Scott (Brenda) Fisher of Edison, Nebraska. Grandchildren Christie Cantrell of Gilbert, Arizona, Kyle (Gina) Cantrell of Merna, Nebraska, Natasha (Joe) Rickley, Bellevue, Nebraska and Anthony (Karmeca) Fisher of Edison, Nebraska. Great-Grandchildren: Grace, Owen, and Kipp Cantrell, Trey, Gunnar, and Beckham Rickley, Kade and Genevieve Fisher, sister Norma (Lyle) Steele of Arapahoe, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruby Hasty, Ruth Farr, Leona Luke, and brothers Benjamin Fisher, Charles Fisher, and Max Fisher. Loran loved golf, Husker sports, listening to the agriculture markets, working crossword puzzles, and everything involving his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska. There will be no viewing or visitation. Funeralservices will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church, Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastor Becky Saddler, officiating. Interment will be at Edison Cemetery, Edison, Nebraska. Military rites provided by the Edison American Legion and Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard.
