M. Marlene “Marty” Utterback

M. Marlene “Marty” Utterback, age 77, of Arapahoe, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. She was born on September 22, 1943 in Benkelman, Nebraska to Clarence and Treva (Byerly) Hoover. She attended school in Colorado. She was united in marriage to James T. Utterback Jr. on October 16, 1976. For several years she worked in the food service industry with some work in health care. Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being on a bowling league. Elvis, beanie babies, Husker Football, roses, and her grandchildren were her passion. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, siblings Vonda Menze, Georgan High, and Howard Hoover, former spouses LeRoy Bunger & Jim Steil Marty is survived by her children: Craig Bunger (Deb Paben), Deb Greuter (Ron), James Steil (Marlaina), Nichole Chesterman (Gary), Shane Steil (Missy), Shawna Sheets (Kevin), Ashley Janway (Tony), Dawn Odell, Rusti Johannsen, Jamie Van Niekerk (Gert), Thomas Utterback, 29 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, friends and her favorite child Chica Private family viewing. Memorial service will be Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 11:30 AM at First United Methodist Church, Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastor Becky Saddler, officiating. Family request to dress up in your best Husker attire for the memorial service. Service will be livestreamed on “Arapahoe FUMC” Facebook page.
