Martha Lydia Haussler

Arapahoe, Nebraska Martha Lydia Haussler, age 103, of Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly of Holbrook, Nebraska, died Monday, September 11, 2006 at the Wedgewood Care Center, in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was born on November 15, 1902 at Fort Wayne, Indiana to August & Lydia (Ludwig) Rodenbeck. She attended Emmaus Lutheran Church and School at Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1913, her family moved to Holbrook, Nebraska and attended the St. Matthews Church and School. On December 11, 1923 she married Frederick A.C. Haussler at her parent’s house. They made their home on a farm four miles north & west of Holbrook, Nebraska until 1951 when they moved into Holbrook, Nebraska. On January 8, 1967 they joined the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska. On January 8, 1993 her husband Frederick passed away. She would then move to Grand Island, Nebraska in October of 1997. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederick, Brothers Ervin, August, Kurt, Frederick, & infant brother, Sister Ella Hockemeier, Grandson Eugene Haussler, 2 Great Grandchildren, Son-In-Laws Donald Mayes & Warren Heinzman. She is survived by Son Frederick “Fritz” & wife Elaine Haussler of Holbrook, Nebraska Daughters: Elaine Mayes of Grand Island, Nebraska Thelma Heinzman of Grand Island, Nebraska Grandchildren: 3 Great-Grandchildren: 6 Great-Great Grandchildren: 3 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com. Viewing & visitation will be Thursday, September 14, from 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be Friday, September 15, at 1:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. Royce Rinehart, officiating. Burial will be at Holbrook Cemetery, Holbrook, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska which is in charge of arrangements.
