Max E. Becker, age 84, of Duncanville, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2025. He was born in Logan, Kansas and grew up and graduated high school in Beaver City, Nebraska. He joined the Navy and when he returned home, he married his wife of 61 years. Together, they had 5 children. Max enjoyed spending time outside, and always enjoyed a good Margarita.
Max had a rare gift of connecting with others—he never met a stranger and was known for his warmth and easygoing nature. Whether you were a longtime friend or someone he had just met, you could always count on Max to make you feel welcome and valued. His sense of humor was enjoyed and missed by all who knew him.
Max is survived by his wife, Pat (Peterson) Becker, and children Mike Becker and wife Melissa of Alvarado, TX, Sandi (Becker) Lopez of Waxahachie, TX, Kris (Becker) Norred of Arlington, TX, Travis Becker and wife Gina Perritt of Cedar Hill, TX, Matt Becker of Duncanville, TX, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, as well a generous number of in-laws, friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Geraldine Becker, 4 brothers William, Donald, Joseph, and Larry and his only sister, Lola (Becker) Summers.
Max’s legacy of warmth, friendship, and love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in Norton, Kansas on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., then lunch will follow at the Parish Center. Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska at 2:00 pm. Condolences and personal reflections may be left at gareyfuneralhome.com. Committal services will be arranged by Garey Funeral Home, of Beaver City, Nebraska.
