Maxine Helen Breinig

Arapahoe, Nebraska Maxine Helen Breinig, age 93, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege, Nebraska. She was born June 8, 1919 at Burns, Wyoming to John O. & Sophia J. (Buhler) Watts. She attended school at Holbrook Public Schools in Holbrook, Nebraska and completed her education at rural Gosper County School. On September 7, 1938 she married Raymond P. “Bud” Breinig at St. Germanus Catholic Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska, to this union four children were born; Robert, Richard, Larry, and Judy. They made their home on a farm northeast of Arapahoe, Nebraska. They moved to Arapahoe in 1980 to enjoy retirement. Following an illness, she moved to Holdrege Memorial Homes in March of 2010. She was active in the St. Germanus Catholic Church, and served as President and Secretary of the Altar Society. She served as President of the Arapahoe Senior Center Board. She was a member of the League of Mary at the All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege. She loved being with people and had many friends every place she went. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidery, reading, and working on jigsaw puzzles. Her quilts were her pride and joy with all of her family receiving one. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond in August of 1988, brother Wayne, and brother-in-law Herb Ziebell. She is survived by her sons Robert and wife Janice Breinig of Holdrege, Nebraska Richard and wife Judith Breinig of Arapahoe, Nebraska Larry and wife Sherry Breinig of Arapahoe, Nebraska Daughter: Judy and husband Ron Jacobsen of Loomis, Nebraska Sister: Della Faye (Peg) Ziebell of Arapahoe, Nebraska Grandchildren: 12 Step-Grandchildren: 2 Great-Grandchildren: 29 Step-Great Grandchildren: 8 Great-Great Grandchildren: 2 Step-Great Great Grandchildren: 1 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com. A Memorial Services will be Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10 AM at the Holdrege Memorial Homes, in Holdrege, Nebraska Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 10 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service at the church. Rosary will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 9:30 AM at the St. Germanus Catholic Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the St. Germanus Catholic Church of Arapahoe, Nebraska with Father Robert Barnhill, officiating. Burial will be at Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1 PM at the Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Memorials may be left in her name at the funeral home.
