Myron Farrell Dawson, age 86, of Elwood, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Elwood Care Center, Elwood, Nebraska. He was born on May 24, 1938, to Farrell and Bernice (Hays) Dawson at a house northwest of Oxford, Nebraska.

Myron grew up in the Turkey Creek area of Gosper County and attended a country school on the banks of Turkey Creek with his neighbors and relatives. He went on to Arapahoe High School and graduated with the class of 1955. While in high school, Myron played football and was in FFA. After high school, he attended and graduated from McCook Community College.

On September 21, 1958, Myron and Marilyn Wade were married at the Christian Church in Elwood, Nebraska. To this union three children were born, Michael (Mike), William (Bill) and Linda.

Myron and Marilyn lived in the Turkey Creek and Elwood areas where he farmed and raised registered Hereford cattle. He was an active member of the communities they lived including Arapahoe Coop Board, ASCS County Committee, Gosper County Fair Board, 4-H Club Leader, Church Board, Lion’s Club member, delivered meals on wheels for several years and was a loyal member of the Elwood Men’s coffee club at the station.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, Farrell and Bernice, parents-in-law, Alice and Lowell Wade, Brothers-in-law Robert and Dennis Wade.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Marilyn Dawson, sons, Mike (Gloria) Dawson, Bill (Kim) Dawson, Linda (Tom) Leising, grandchildren Charise Dawson, Kyle (Desirée) Dawson, Kayla (Kalen) Arehart, Angela (Jarod) Murdoch, Erika (Kevin) McCracken, Scott (Paige) Leising and Stephanie Leising; Great-Grandchildren Wade Rave, Wyatt and Kieran Dawson, Hudson, Landry, and Beau Arehart, Alice Murdoch, and Emma and Hayden Leising. Brother Doyle (Carol) Dawson and many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Myron will be greatly missed. Memorials are suggested to the Gosper County Senior Center or the Elwood Care Center.
