Naomi M. (McClelland) Richard

Norton, Kansas Naomi M. (McClelland) Richard, age 83, of Norton, Kansas formerly of Beaver City, Nebraska died Thursday, October 30, 2008 on her 83rd birthday at Norton County Hospital at Norton, Kansas. She was born October 30, 1925 at St. Francis, Kansas to Homer and Ethal (May) Wolbach. Naomi grew up in St. Francis, attending St. Francis, Kansas schools. Following graduation she worked in the St Francis area till her marriage to Clifford McClelland on May 17, 1953 at St. Francis, Kansas, and they moved to Norton, Kansas where Naomi worked at several restaurants. She later worked for Norton State Hospital where she retired in the mid 1980's. Clifford McClelland died March 18, 1988. She then married John G. Richard on August 3, 1992 at Norton, Kansas. They lived in Beaver City. John Richard died October 4, 1997, she remained in Beaver City for a couple years before moving to Norton, Kansas in 1999, where she resided till her death. She had a love and art for needle work and was very good at it. She attended the Christian Church in Norton and later attended Church of God in Norton, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Clifford and John; Two Sisters: Alberta and Irene, Four Brothers: Frank, Delbert, John and Orgyle. Two step-sons: Alfred and Ray Survivors include: Two Sons: Leon McClelland and special friend Jo White of Salina, Kansas Doyle McClelland also of Salina, Kansas Daughter: Shauna & husband Merle Robison of Norton, Kansas Sister: Phyllis and husband Walt Grossnickel of Manhattan, Kansas Two-Step Sons: Floyd Richard and wife Joy of Anza, California Ted Richard and wife Shelia of Hesperia, California Three Step-Daughters: Ruth Stalder of Beaver City, Nebraska Evelyn and husband Bob Hagemeier of Cheyenne, Wyo. Alice and husband Don Knigge of Edmond, Kansas Step-Daughter-in-law: Rosalie Richard of Gillette, Wyoming Grandchildren: 6 Step-Grandchildren: 28 Great-Grandchildren: 5 Step-Great Grandchidlren: 88 & Step-Great-Great Grandchildren: 48 Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com Viewing and visitation will be Saturday, November 1 & Sunday, November 2, 1 PM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and at the church prior to the services Monday. Funeral services will be Monday, November 3, 2008, at 2 PM at Church of God in Norton, Kansas with Pastor Terry Worthington, Officiating. Burial will follow at Norton Cemetery at Norton, Kansas.
