Norma Lee Niemeier, age 78, formerly of Holbrook, Nebraska, died on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the Cambridge Manor, in Cambridge, Nebraska. She was born on October 4, 1930 at Red Cloud, NE to Joseph W. & Dorothy (Powers) Strong.
She moved with her family to Culbertson, Nebraska as a child. As a young woman, she worked at the Culbertson Cafe, where she met her future husband, Clarence Niemeier. Norma and Clarence were married on March 4, 1954 in Arapahoe, Nebraska. During the next 30 years they had the opportunity to live in many towns within the Midwest area, including Sargent, Valentine, Arlington and Verdigre, Nebraska; Downs and Courtland, Kansas and Canton, South Dakota before moving to Holbrook, Nebraska in 1974. She would later move to Cambridge Manor, Cambridge, Nebraska because of health reasons.
Norma enjoyed going to movies, writing to a multitude of pen pals, visiting with her neighbors and taking vacations with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Mary Jane Strong.
She is survived by her husband Clarence Niemeier of Cambridge, Nebraska
Son: Gerald & wife Bonnie Niemeier of Omaha, Nebraska
Brother: Robert & wife Hope Strong of Culbertson, Nebraska
Grandchildren: Danielle Kirchhevel, Jason Niemeier and Valerie Niemeier of Omaha, Nebraska.
Great grandchildren: Abram and Olivia Kirchhevel of Omaha Nebraska.

Viewing and visitation will be Sunday, June 14, from 1 PM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska and prior to the service. Funeral services will be Monday, June 15, 2009, at 10:30 AM at Wenburg Funeral Home, in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Rev. David Feddern, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Matthews Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska, is in charge of the arrangements.
