R. Lynn Oliva, age 60, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 as a result of a truck accident, one mile North of Arapahoe on Highway 283. He was born January 19, 1948 at Stockton, Kansas, to William & Cleota (Carmichael) Oliva. Lynn grew up in Stockton, Kansas area and graduated with the class of 1966 from Stockton High School at Stockton, Kansas. He served time in the National Guard following graduation. He married Janet Holen at Bertrand, Nebraska on November 10, 1968. He had lived in several communities, including, Bertrand, Lexington, Overton and Elwood, Nebraska and several Kansas towns. He worked 14 years for Tyson Foods in Lexington. His wife Janet died in 1984. He married Sharon (Hunter) Gretzschel on June 1, 1985. They moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska in 2003. He currently worked for JWO Trucking of Arapahoe, Nebraska where he worked the past 2 years. He was a member of NRA. Preceded in death by First wife: Janet in 1984, father, brother Kenneth, Grandson Adrian and Step-Son Martin. Survivors include; Wife; Sharon Oliva of Arapahoe, Nebraska Mother: Cleota Oliva of Stockton, Kansas Son: Kurt Oliva and wife Susan of North Platte, NE 3-Daughters: Kimberly and husband George Salpas of Grand Island, NE Kelly and husband Emigdio Cuevas of Grand Island, NE Kerry Kinkade & finance Troy Larson of Long Pine, NE Step-Son: Chris Gretzschel of Gaylord, Kansas Step-Daughter: Marenda Gretzschel of Alma, Nebraska Brother: Richard Oliva of Stockton, Kansas Sister: Linda and husband Chuck Williams of Stockton, Kansas Grandchildren: 32 Great-Grandchildren: 20 Visitation will be Saturday, April 12 from 11 AM until 8 PM and Sunday, April 13 from 1 PM until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska Condolences or personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com Funeral services will be Monday, April 14, 2008 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with Rev. Michael Flury, officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 PM Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Bertrand, Nebraska with Military Honors. Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
