Reba Pearl Shafer, age 100, formerly of Beaver City, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was born December 9, 1921 in Beaver City, Nebraska to Benjamin and Essie Wells.
She married Arthur Leroy Shafer on August 8, 1941.
During her life, she was a professional lady. She was a hydrotherapist during WW2. Later, she and Arthur moved to Lincoln, Nebraska from Orange County, California. There she and Art worked for Christian Record Braille Foundation for 25 years. She loved music and studied with Julliard School of Music in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Decatur, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur whom passed away in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Cliff Houser, Toby Wells, and Merlin Wells; great grandson, Darrell Farmer; and daughter, Loretta Westberry.
She is survived by her son, Arthur “Dean” Shafer and wife, Ruby of Gentry, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren, Sherley Kay Moorehead of Tallahassee, Florida, Dale Shafer of Neosho, Missouri, Anita Wise of Gentry, Arkansas, and Wanda Hammond of Gentry, Arkansas; 11 great grandchildren; and many other loved ones.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday November 30, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Joel Rathbun officiating. There is no viewing or visitation.
