Arapahoe, Nebraska Roland E. Emmett, age 78, of Arapahoe, Nebraska died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Tri County Hospital in Lexington, Nebraska. He was born October 20, 1926 at Oxford, Nebraska to R. Finch & Twyla (Tull) Emmett. He grew up in Arapahoe and graduated from Arapahoe High School with class of 1944. He got his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from UNL in 1948 and served in US Navy during WWII. He married Grace Swanson on June 3, 1948 at Papillion, Nebraska. He worked in the commercial banking and insurance business in Arapahoe for 40 years & retired in 1992. Memberships include; St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Arapahoe, President of Arapahoe Fire Department, Bandmaster of Tehama Temple Shrine Band, member of Presidents Advisory board of the Univ. of Nebraska. Monument Lodge #293 AF & AM, Rena Chapter #12 of Eastern Star both in Arapahoe. Member of Jesters, Ak-Sar-Ben, Elks, Scottish Rite Masons and Nebraska Diplomats. Past president of Nebraska Bankers Association; South Platte Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Arapahoe Chamber of Commerce, Board of Education and past commander of American Legion Post in Arapahoe. Proceeded in death by parents and infant Sister. Survivors include: Wife Grace of Arapahoe, Nebraska Son: Scott Emmett of Scotia, NE 3 Daughters: Kathleen & husband Dr. Gary Ensz of Auburn, NE Sarah Emmett of Lincoln, NE Mary & husband Bill Fitzke of Sun Lakes, AZ Grandchildren: 5 Viewing & visitation will be Friday, noon until 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, Nebraska. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 2 PM at St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Revs Lawrence & Ruth Jaynes, officiating. Burial will follow at Arapahoe Cemetery at Arapahoe, Nebraska. Condolences and personal reflections can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com.
